UIUC SWE Corporate Relations Program 2007

Dear Corporate Representatives:

On behalf of the Society of Women Engineers Student Section at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I wish to request funding to support our activities of this year, and thank you for your interest in participating with our organization.  It is the goal of our section to be a development-focused organization with dynamic student participation and strong industry and faculty interaction.  We hope that our members will actively help themselves and their peers grow professionally while strengthening their department, serving the community, and promoting the enjoyment of engineering and technology.

Our section provides monthly meetings for our members where representatives from industry come to share with us some of their experiences as an engineer, some facets of the business world that are applicable to students, and insights to the careers that await students after graduation. 

In addition to general meetings, SWE also organizes a variety of activities to offer a more enriching experience to our members.  Sending members to the annual National and Regional conferences, hosting professional development conference and dinners, publishing a newsletter, and playing in intramural sports are some ways our section promotes a more elevating experience for our students and our community.  Please visit our website at http://swe.swe.ec.uiuc.edu for more information.
