SWE at UIUC: On Campus: Past GradSWE Events
December 11, 3-5 PM, 1005 MRL | If you're going to a conference soon and want a chance to go through your talk uninterrupted in front of an audience and get feedback on the presentation - not the content - take this opportunity to practice! If you applied for jobs this fall and have to give a job talk on your research - iron out the kinks before you fly out! Practice makes perfect - simply bring your laptop and we'll have a projector, a conference room, and an audience.

 | December's lunch will be at Sushi Avenue, the new Japanese/Korean restaurant at 403 East Green Street in Champaign. December 3, 6-8 PM, Za's | Getting your bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or completing your PhD thesis is a major life milestone, and SWE would like to congratulate those who will reach one this December. The journey to graduation is long and never easy. If you are graduating or know a SWEster who is graduating, join us in celebrating our December graduates! With finals and the deposit deadline within sight, take a night to gather energy for the final stretch with dinner, dessert and gifts from SWE. | | Elizabeth Blankenship from the multiple award-winning Central Illinois professional section will also be there to answer questions about professional SWE membership and to hold a membership upgrade raffle. This is a great opportunity for those graduates who are interested in continuing to be involved with SWE to make it happen. |

GradSWE Welcome to Champaign-Urbana, Thursday, September 18, 5 - 7 PM
If you've just arrived on campus and are looking to pick a research group and settle in, come talk to older (and hopefully wiser) graduate students and faculty at our Welcome to Champaign-Urbana dinner in the Bresee Lounge of the Alice Campbell Alumni Center.
To start you off with local restaurant tips, we will be having the best Chicago-style deep-dish pizza in town from Papa Del's, both with and without meat.
GradSWE members research in many fields and have found many ways to spend their free time, ranging from hiking (Yes, in Illinois!) to yoga. Faculty from Engineering Physics, ECE, MatSE, MechSE, and CS will be attending. Children and partners welcome.
